How are you finding your BMW Electric?

I’m so delighted with my BMW i4. It has absolutely exceeded my expectations. The car to look at is stunning (I get complimented loads), but the driveability and comfort is on another level. Going electric was a worry with range and charging but its simply not an issue with this car. The additional packs are worth it, the heads up display is fantastic, the GPS is on the windscreen! The comfort pack is worth it also, all of the additional packs do provide a meaningful difference to the car and your experience.

Has your driving style changed?

Yes to my surprise it did. I certainly drive with a more calmer style now. I feel the lack of engine and therefore quieter nature of the car makes me less likely to want to drive faster or sharper, and with all the safety and intervention tools within the car, it helps you be a better driver.

How did you get over any range anxiety?

At the start this was definitely a worry, but it's all about preparation. Working out at the start what your range is with your driving style etc, how much percentage do you use in a certain amount of miles, and from there you can make an educated guess about the amount of battery you need. The range on the i4 is fantastic so initially keep it charged at a higher level and overtime you will know what you need. The My BMW app is great for seeing driving information such as mileage and battery usage so a great tool to keep track with.Have noticed fuel savings since moving to electric?Absolutely I have, it is definitely cheaper with electric compared to fuel. I also have solar panels on my house, which make the savings even greater. I can easily fully charge the car for around £30 cheaper than before.

Where and when do you charge your BMW?

I charge it at home, I got a charger installed outside in my driveway. I mostly charge it during the day so I can make use of the solar panels, just plug it in and leave it alone and you don’t have to worry about anything, it's so simple! The cable locks into the car when the car is locked and it works great in all weather, its been charging in sunshine, rain and snow and not an issue.

Will your next vehicle purchase be electric?

Yes, very likely. The running costs are certainly cheaper and with a charger at home it makes complete sense to stick with electric. I have driven all around Northern Ireland without needing to recharge in public as the range is so high, so I have every reason to stay electric.

Would you recommend the BMW i4 to anyone considering making that switch?

I absolutely would. It's a wonderful car and any concerns you have about going electric, don’t because they won't exist once you get up and running in this car.
